Privacy policy
Last updated: 2 September 2026
This policy explains what personal information Little Founders collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and what you can do about it. It applies to littlefounders.com.au, to our emails, and to the enquiries you send us.
Little Founders sells workbooks, planners, journals and kits for children aged 6 to 12, and is based in Brisbane, Queensland. The people who buy from us are almost always parents, carers, grandparents or teachers. Some of what we collect is information about a child, given to us by an adult. We have set that out separately below, because it is the part most parents want to read.
What we collect
When you buy something. Your name, email address, delivery address, billing address and phone number. We also keep a record of what you ordered and when.
We do not see or store your full card number. Card payments are handled by our payment provider, which processes your card details directly under its own privacy terms.
When you join our email list. Your email address and first name. If you sign up through our website popup or through an advertisement on Facebook or Instagram, we also ask for your child's first name and their age band. Both are optional.
When you contact us. Whatever you choose to tell us in your message, along with your name and email address.
When you visit the site. Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you looked at, how you arrived, and how long you stayed. This is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies. See Cookies and tracking below.
What we do not collect. We do not collect sensitive information as the Privacy Act defines it. That means no health information, no racial or ethnic origin, no religious or political affiliation and no biometric data. If you send us any of it unprompted, we will not use it.
Information about your child
This section matters more to us than the rest of the policy, so it is written plainly.
We collect a child's first name and age band, and only from an adult. It is given to us by a parent or carer when they join our email list, either through the website or through an advertisement. It is optional. You can leave it blank and still receive everything we send.
We use it for two things. To recommend the product that suits the age. Our range spans a six-year-old drawing their answers and a twelve-year-old writing paragraphs, and the wrong recommendation wastes your money. And to write to you about your child by name rather than as "your child".
We do not write to children. Every email we send is addressed to the adult on the account. We do not ask a child to sign up, we do not ask you to hand a device over, and we do not run accounts for anyone under 18.
We do not knowingly collect information directly from a child. Our website is not designed for children to use on their own, and purchases require an adult. If you believe a child has given us personal information directly, email us at info@littlefounders.com.au and we will delete it.
We do not sell it, and we do not use it to advertise to your child. The child's first name and age band are used in our own email programme and nowhere else. They are not shared with advertising platforms, not used to build audiences, and not passed to any third party for their own marketing.
You can have it removed at any time. Ask us to delete your child's details and we will, without removing you from the list unless you also want that.
Why we collect it
We collect personal information to fill and deliver your order, to answer your questions, to send you email you have asked to receive, to understand how the website is used so we can improve it, to measure whether our advertising works, and to meet our record-keeping obligations under Australian law.
We do not collect information we have no use for, and we do not make any part of a purchase conditional on giving us more than we need.
Who we share it with
We share personal information with the service providers who make the business run. Each of them is bound by their own privacy obligations, and none of them is permitted to use your information for their own purposes.

Card payments are handled by our payment provider, which receives your card details directly at checkout. We do not receive or store them.
We also disclose personal information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to investigate fraud or a serious threat to someone's safety.
We do not sell your personal information, and we never will.
Information sent overseas
Several of the providers above store data outside Australia, mostly in the United States. That means your information may be held in a country with privacy laws different from ours. We choose providers that maintain recognised security and privacy standards, and we require them by contract to protect the information they hold for us, but we cannot control the laws of the countries they operate in.
Cookies and tracking
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use them to keep your cart working between pages, to remember your preferences, to measure how the site is used, and to understand which advertisements bring people to us.
Some are set by us. Others are set by the services we use to run the store, send our email and measure our advertising, and are listed in the table above.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking them will break parts of the checkout.
Email, and how to stop it
We only send marketing email to people who have asked for it, either by joining our list or by ticking the box at checkout.
Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link. One click and you are out, permanently, at no cost and without having to explain. We act on it immediately.
You will still receive transactional email about an order you have placed, such as confirmation, dispatch and delivery, because those are not marketing.
Keeping it safe
We use reputable platforms with encryption in transit, restrict access to the people who need it, and do not keep information we no longer have a use for.
No system is completely secure, and we are not going to claim otherwise. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required.
How long we keep it
Order and transaction records are kept for as long as Australian tax and business record-keeping law requires.
Email list details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
Getting a copy, or correcting it
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct anything wrong, or ask us to delete it. Email info@littlefounders.com.au and we will respond as quickly as we can.
There is no charge. We may need to verify your identity first, which usually means replying from the email address on the account.
Where we are required to keep certain records, such as tax records, we will tell you what we cannot delete and why.
If you are not happy
Contact us first at info@littlefounders.com.au. Most problems are a misunderstanding and can be sorted out in a day.
If we have not resolved it to your satisfaction, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will tell you by email.
